Wincle School History

Wincle School was founded in 1861 on the deed of gift of £500 from Mrs J R Daintry of North Rode, which enabled the building of a spacious school room and school house which still form the major part of Wincle School premises today. More recently, in the sixties, the original building was extended to provide an additional classroom, cloakroom facilities, kitchen and offices. Major renovation of the school house took place nine years ago, enabling the creation of separate Infant and Junior classrooms, a hall/dining area, a kiln room and additional office space.

More recent changes include an outdoor play area for reception children, a library area in the hall (2002) and new toilets for staff and children (2005).

Twincle nursery has also recently benefited from a new kitchen area, outdoor storage and outdoor play area. At present the school Kitchen is being refitted and refurbished.
