I am a Foundation Governor at Wincle School and have enjoyed the last twenty years teaching in Macclesfield. My role at Wincle School includes governor responsibility for children with Special Needs, and acting as Chair for the Curriculum, Standards and Achievement Subcommittee, a member of the Finance and Staffing Subcommittee, and the Monitoring Group Subcommittee. Experiencing the feelings of achievement and joy of the children and staff on entering this successful Church school makes the job of a governor so rewarding.

My name is Verena Breed and I am a Foundation Governor. I am also the Vicar of St. Michael's Church, Wincle (in a combined benefice with Bosley, North Rode and Wildboarclough). I was born in Germany and was a minister in the Lutheran Church in Germany before I came to England in 2000 where I was ordained Anglican Priest in 2002. I served a second curacy in Prestbury, also Diocese of Chester, before I came to Wincle in 2004. Both our children were lucky enough to be able to go to Wincle School. Our son moved on to High School in September 2011 and our daughter is currently in Year 6. Wincle School played an important part in our decision to come here and our children's experience has shown that it has been one of the best decisions ever!

I moved to Wincle in 1984 with my wife Angela and 4 children, the youngest two of whom attended Wincle School. I became a parent governor and then chair, a position I have held intermittently ever since.
During those 27 years there have been many changes at school and we have gone through some difficult times. I am pleased to say however that the School has never been in better shape than it is at the moment. I consider it a great privilege to be involved with such a wonderful School.
I am retired now but still involved with the family business in Congleton.

I have been involved with Wincle School in various capacities for 7 years. I became a parent governor because I wanted to be involved with planning and decision making for the future of the school. I believe that a good primary education is essential for providing children with a good foundation for future education and life in general. Both of my children have been privileged to experience a unique and broad education at Wincle School.
As parent governor I am always interested to hear the views and ideas of parents, so please don't hesitate to get in touch.

My early experience was gained teaching English and History at secondary level. After having my sons, I taught Year Six children, preparing them for entrance examinations to schools such as Manchester Grammar and Kings School.
I have been a volunteer at Wincle for over 10 years, working mainly with Year 6 pupils and helping with all the fun activities of the school year.
Wincle School has blossomed; numbers have increased considerably, necessitating the raising of over £30,000 to build a new classroom. Governors, teachers, parents, children and the local community worked tirelessly to achieve this.
Working together as a team, to improve all aspects of the school, is what makes Wincle School so special and our children so happy.

My children have been at this fabulous school since 2005. Gemma and I have always been extremely pleased with the education they've received here, so when the opportunity came up to join the governing body in 2008 I was keen to take part.
We live on a farm in Quarnford, a few valleys away in Staffordshire, and thoroughly enjoy the rural life that's so much a part of a school like Wincle and the community it serves.
If you'd like to talk to me about the school or your experiences do get in touch, I'd be very pleased to hear from you.

I always wanted to work with children and started by nannying, babysitting and volunteering at holiday clubs. Since my secondary school days my personal faith has led me on a journey and I began my teaching career in 1993. In September 2009 I was appointed as headteacher of Wincle Church of England Primary School and have the privilege of working with a family of people who are devoted and passionate about children's learning. Please contact me if you have any questions or interest in our school.
